Mitch is currently a postdoctoral research fellow in the School of Kinesiology at the University of British Columbia, Canada, and is excited to begin in August 2022 as an Assistant Professor of Sport Management in Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities, USA. His research agenda focuses on social entrepreneurship, innovation, sport for development and peace (SDP), and livelihoods, and he often utilizes postcolonial theory, institutional theory, and diaspora to critically investigate these areas. His publications have appeared in Sociology of Sport Journal, International Review for the Sociology of Sport, Journal of Sport Management, and Sport Management Review. His research has been funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada and the North American Society for Sport Management. He has worked with various SDP organizations in Uganda, Canada, India, Eswatini, and a number of international organizations.
